During the recently concluded Rio Olympics, Salman Khan had chanted numerous support for the Indian athletes via his Twitter and Instagram handles, @BeingSalmanKhan. He showered them with praises and words on encouragement before and during the Olympics.

Salman, who was the goodwill ambassador of the Indian contingent had gone as far as pledging to present each of the athlete with a cheque of Rs 1,01,000 - this is pronounced as One Lakh One Thousand Rupees which is approximately $1,520 or NGN 479,500. 

I understand that a lakh is a hundred thousand. What I don't get is the one thousand that is added to it. Why didn't he just give them one lakh, or one lakh and a half, or two lakhs... lol

I heard that he made good of this pledge by asking the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) to provide him with the bank details of the athletes in order to transfer the funds directly to them.

The Indian contingent to the Rio Olympics bagged a total of two medals; one silver and one bronze medal in badminton and wrestling respectively. The second picture is one he shared with P.V Sindhu, who won the silver in badminton women's singles at the Rio Olympics.

Will this gesture make the indian public forget that he refused to apologise for the rape comment?! Only time will tell...

Alright people, the movie of the day is #PremRatanDhanPayo which means Found a Treasure Called Love.

The movie which stars Salman Khan (as Yuvraj Vijay Singh and Prem Dilwale), Sonam Kapoor (as Maithili), Neil Nitin Mukesh (Yuvraj Ajay Singh), Anupam Kher (Diwan Sahib), Swara Bhaskar (as Rajkumari Chandrika) and Aashika Bhatia (as Rajkumari Radhika) was released in 2015 and I had the pleasure of watching it on Erosnow earlier this year. I found myself humming the theme song this morning, hence, the choice!

THE PLOT:

Yuvraj Vijay Singh is the crown prince of Pritampur, who is soon to be crowned as king. He is engaged to Maithili, a princess from the royal family of a neighboring kingdom. However, due to his stiff and stubborn nature, Vijay faces many problems with Maithili as well as his half brother and sisters. His half sisters, Rajkumari Chandrika and Rajkumari Radhika live in a separate house outside the royal palace and have filed case against Vijay for a share in the royal property, because they felt their mother, a mistress to the late King, was wronged by the Queen when she was disgraced in the presence of all the King's children. Similarly, his half brother, Yuvraj Ajay Singh, vows vengeance and has been wanting to kill him and take the crown for himself. He enlists the help of his manager named Chirag Singh, who begins to misguide Ajay at every step. Yuvraj Vijay barely escapes an assassination plan coordinated by Yuvraj Ajay and Chirag to kill him but gets badly injured. He is then hidden in a secret chamber for treatment.

Meanwhile, Vijay's lookalike Prem Dilwale, a perky, lively and carefree stage actor who is in love with Princess Maithili, went to Pritampur to meet her along with his friend Kanhaiya. At a bus stop, the Security Head of Pritampur Palace, Sanjay, notices him by chance, and takes him to Diwan Sahib. Upon seeing the striking resemblance between Prem and Vijay, Diwan asks Prem to take Vijay's place while he recovers from his coma. 

Prem acts as Yuvraj Vijay but with his simple and caring nature, he impresses Maithili who earlier wanted to break up with Vijay. Prem also attempts to reconcile with his sisters by bringing them back to the royal palace; he prepares legal documents handing over all of the royal family's properties to them. His half-sisters are so moved by this gesture that, with a little push from Maithili, they eventually have a change of heart and decline to deprive the prince of his fortune.

Ajay and Chirag find out that Prem is only playing the part of the prince, and kidnap the real Yuvraj. Chirag decides to double cross Ajay, by freeing Vijay and feeding him false information to pit him against Ajay and Prem. Vijay and Ajay get into a sword fight when Prem and Kanhaiya intervene and clear the confusion. Chirag tries to shoot them down but falls to his death. Ajay regrets his deeds and Vijay reconciles with him. Maithili is shocked to know the truth about Prem not being Yuvraj Vijay after Prem has left to return to his home. 

At the end, the royal family reaches Prem's house to reunite Prem and Maithili.

What I love about this movie:...

I totally enjoyed the richness of the royal culture. Also loved the way they infused the modern and traditional ways of life.

The songs were amazing; my favorite was "Jab Tum Chaho", that's the one where Prem was taking notes of the problems with Maithili. My second best song is the title track, I loved the video for that one.

My best part?...

That would be the scene when Prem (pretending to be Yuvraj) was supposedly on a vow of silence for some days but blurted out 'I'm sorry' to Maithili.

For me, I love the simplicity of the story - it was fun and traditional. The beauty and burst of colour of the set and the actors will make you watch it over and over again...

You can watch it on Erosnow for a token. If you love romcom, you should watch this film. You will thank me afterwards...

#AeDilHaiMushkilTeaser

Hi Guys,

Trending this morning is the teaser of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. 

A film written and directed by the great Karan Johar; starring Ranbir Kapoor as Ayan, Anushka Sharma as Alizeh and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as Saba. I also spotted Fawad Khan in the teaser and I heard that Shahrukh Khan made a cameo appearance... It is set to release this Diwali which is at the end of October.  

The teaser opens with Ranbir singing and then shows series of clips from the film. I tell you, this one is a must watch. I see some romancing between Aish and Ranbir and it looks like we will see a love triangle between the three. 

My guess on what this is about: Ranbir and Anushka will fall into young love and somehow Ranbir will meet Aish, a rich older woman, who would also fall in love with Ranbir. This would then set into a motion, a series of events warped by jealousy and greed. 

OR || Aish, a rich older woman, meets Ranbir first, falls in love with him but he pretends to be in love with her just to get the money whilst he keeps an affair with Anushka on the side. Aish then finds out and plots her revenge.

OR || Aish and Anushka, who are siblings or not, both fall in love with Ranbir without knowing it. Ranbir, who perhaps will be some sort of playboy, hanging out with both of them for separate reasons - money and young love! The ladies find out and plot their revenge.

There are a thousand ways this could play out but whatever it is, it is a must watch. Aish looks all shades of gorgeous and I wasn't sure of her paring with Ranbir when I first heard about it but seeing it now has changed my mind. I can't wait to hit the cinemas once it is released. I hope Silverbird Cinemas will show it.

Well done Karan!!! You always deliver and I am sure this one will be a hit!!!

So, I was jejely minding my own business online before I stumbled upon a publication on the Top 40 richest actors in the world. I really didn't expect to find anyone other than Hollywood actors on there. But lo and behold... I found four Bollywood superstars.

I wasn't quite surprised about the first three. Yeah you guessed it - the Khans! But the third actor was quite a surprise to me. Akshay Kumar was ranked as the 35th richest actor in the world after Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan & Aamir Khan who are ranked 5th, 26th, & 33rd respectively.

Going by this, I believe it is safe to conclude that SRK rules Bollywood. Not that I am surprised! Afterall he is King Khan!!!... He has been reported to have a net worth of $600 Million. American immigration will now be showing themselves and be detaining him; what a joke! LOL!

I was super proud to see these men on the list. I am not indian but I love these men for their work and creativity.

Jackie Chan & Jet Lee also made it to the list, ranked as 25th & 29th respectively. Other than that, the rest were Hollywood actors. Simon Cowell was on the list, I was wondering why though. Is he an actor???

Hi guys...

I know, I stay away for too long right. My apologies - life happened!

Remember when I broke the new of the new series (King of hearts) airing on Zee World Africa? Read it here if you missed it.

I actually had been following the show (originally called Jamai Raja) on Zee TV for about a year. Although, I missed quite a number of episodes when they changed the timing after which I tried to keep up on Twitter and Youtube.

The first thing that caught me then when I first saw the series like it is doing now that it is airing locally was the amazing chemistry between Roshni (Nia Sharma) and Siddhart (Ravi Dubey); both lovingly called SidNi. They both look so good together and I dare say the producers did a great job pairing them because I am certain the TRPs were awesome. People literally watch just to see them together. You should check out Zee World's Facebook page when it comes to discussing the series, ladies are just swooning over Siddhart (reminds me of the good old Yash days. LOL!) - I am a Yash & Aarti (AarYa) girl... I still haven't found their match, haha!

Anyway, I am sure all you loved up SidNi fans would like to see them live happily ever after. Well... I've got good news and bad news. Good news is, they will be happy for a while (with a lot of ups and downs; the introduction of plenty villains who will 'rock' their world, etc -  and yes! DD will become a good person). The bad news is, the jodi of SidNi will end at a point. This is the heart breaking twist lovers of SidNi are enduring right now. 

Jamai Raja, which entered its third season on Zee TV, took a 20 year leap and saw the end of SidNi. After all their trials and tribulations together, Roshni and Siddhart will die leaving behind a son called Satya (also played by Ravi Dubey). Obviously, there is only so much that can happen in the lives of SidNi anyway and I applauded the twist. Although, I expected that they would introduce a fresh hero and heroine but apparently, the ladies just love seeing Ravi Dubey as their Jamai Raja.

PS: For non-hindi speaking or hearing Nigerians, you can just go to the end of the episode's clip or make do with the pictures below. Lol!; but for those of us (like me), that learnt hindi by force because we had no choice and for our love of Bollywood, please watch. Very emotional!

So buckle up Africa, there is plenty of drama coming your way with King of hearts. This one will keep you glued to your TV at the 8:00 clock hour (in Nigeria) for a long time.

OK... So the whole world knows how much I love SRK. Yes?

He only recently reminded us why we do. 

The superstar who was recently detained at a US airport again for the third time, took to twitter to share his concern and those tweets were somewhat 'ShahRukh-ish'...

My favorite was the second one where he caught Pokemons. That was a good one! 

Although, I fail to understand why he was detained though. I heard that the first time it happened, it was because he shared names with a terrorist. What fails me here is who doesn't know SRK???! 

Anyway, I have heard that SRK himself had said at a gathering in Yale that whenever he was feeling arrogant about himself, he would go to the US. Hahahahaha... Perhaps, they remembered this quote during this trip and felt you were being arrogant. LOL!

What I love about this whole situation is that SRK was quite humble to admit that he respects protocols but I think that the US needs to take a chill pill. It's a third time y'all and it is beginning to feel like a witch-hunt.

SRK - We love you and remember America has go nothing on you. By the way, thank you for the tweet you sent to me on your birthday from 2015. It was the first and probably the last and only tweet I will get from him. I cherish it a great deal. Haters will say it was for promotional purposes, I say 'bite me'... Wink!

Hi Guys,

I have been offline for some days now, but I sure am glad to be back. Sometimes, we just don't have power to change our circumstances and 'life happens'! 

So let's see what did I miss???!

It was my lovely Kajol's birthday on the 5th! Whoop! My all time favorite actress. My number one forever. LOL! I celebrate Kajol every year, not because my birthday is on the 6th and we're both Leos or anything - LOL; she inspires me a lot and I did wish her on Twitter for her birthday but it won't be complete if I don't do it here as well. Here's to you Kajol, I wish you all the best for always...

She turned 42 on Friday and there were a number of wishes for her on social media. One notable greeting was from legendary Amitabh Bachchan who wrote...'T 2340 -Birthday greetings for the 5th to lovely Kaajol .. I did greet her personally but this is better looking !'

I was on the look out for SRK's tweet but couldn't find any. Perhaps he had called her directly... He has to! 

Days after her birthday, Kajol and hubby, Ajay Devgn were up to some shenanigans on Twitter following the launch of the trailer of his new film, Shivaay. The tweets will speak for themselves...

This was the ultimate 'Awwwnnnnn...' moment and that was exactly my reaction on Twitter. The two who rarely indulge in public display of affection melted my heart with this. The trailer of Shivaay looks all shades of awesome and I wish Ajay all the best with this one. You can check out the trailer below...
