The hot news today is that Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif will be teaming up for YRF's next movie titled Tiger Zinda Hai.

The movie is the sequel to Kabir Khan’s 2012 movie Ek Tha Tiger and will be directed by Salman's last movie, Sultan's director, Ali Abbas Zafar. Yash Raj Films will be producing it and they shared the news on their official Twitter account saying; 'Announcing @BeingSalmanKhan and #KatrinaKaif in #TigerZindaHai. Directed by @aliabbaszafar Releasing Christmas 2017.'

While the poster reveals that the film will have a Christmas 2017 release, trade analyst Taran Adarsh, gave out more details saying that the film will release on 22 December 2017. 

Ek Tha Tiger gave Bollywood the sizzling pair of Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan. It went on to become one of the highest grossing movies of that year. The 2012 film narrated the love story of an Indian RAW agent (Tiger) and a Pakistani ISI spy (Zoya). In its epilogue, several image of sightings of Tiger and Zoya in cities like Venice, Cape Town, Zurich and London were shown after both had disappeared; but neither agencies were able catch them. Perhaps, this sequel will get them captured and go on to test the strength of their love.

We all know that everyone and anyone would be honoured to work with the legendary Amitabh Bachchan. Some would even take it for granted and assume that other big names in the industry would see starring alongside him as one of those things... that notion is wrong and Aamir Khan aka Mr. Perfectionist has confirmed it.

The superstar, in a recent tweet confirmed that he would be featured alongside Big B in an upcoming film tiled Thugs Of Hindostan which is scheduled for next year and went ahead to let us all know how working with Big B has always being a dream. 

Apparently, both actors have never worked together in a film; that actually just occurred to me. I have seen Big B's films with the Shahrukh & Salman but never with Aamir and it makes me wonder why... I even had to google to be sure that such movie didn't exist.

The tweet which got over 3,000 retweets, one of which was by Big B himself has got the world talking. Someone called it 'the casting coup of the decade' and I couldn't agree more!

Well... what I know is that this film is one to look out for and I wish cast and crew the very best.

Get this! he's a GIRL!...

Ahsaas Channa, a child actor who also acted in the films 'My Friend Ganesha' as Aashu and 'VastuShashtra' as Rohan, playing boys in both. It was only in 'Phoonk 2' that she played a girl child. Her role from 'My Friend Ganesha' was appreciated and liked by all.

The cute kid who everyone thought was a boy, because of the roles she played as a child artist is slowly making a comeback on television with small roles on shows like 'Savdhaan India'.

So... again, I have missed the birthday of the amazing Rishi Kapoor. I remembered but forgot to blog about it. But then, it is better late than never hey! 

The actor has been part of the industry for over four decades and has been seen in great movies like Amar Akbar Anthony, Yeh Vaada Raha, Fanaa, Bobby, Coolie, Chandni, Bewakoofiyan, Student of the year and a ton other films. He was last seen in 'Kapoor & Sons Since 1921'.

Mr. Kapoor who turned 64 on Sunday (born September 4 1952) had the whole of B-Town tweeting at him to wish him well for his birthday. He is married to veteran actress Neetu Singh and has two children, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni and Ranbir Kapoor. The latter, who is also an actor.

He did take his time to reply to as many as he could in his quirky manner and then tweeted a general message thanking all... I invaded his and some others' TL to capture as many greetings as I could but they were just too many!

Amitabh Bachchan (Big B) just wrote a letter to his grand daughters Aaradhya (Abishek & Aish's daughter) and Navya (Shweta Bachchan Nanda and Nikhil Nanda's daughter). Shweta is Abishek's older sister.

I am not sure why he has written the letter but the message to these young ladies is very clear. I also hope all is well with Big B..

Both your pardadajis gave your present surnames celebrated fame, dignity and recognition!

Both of you may be a Nanda or a Bachchan, but you are also girls…women!

And because you are women, people will force their thinking, their boundaries on you.

They will tell you how to dress, how to behave, who you can meet and where you can go.

During the recently concluded Rio Olympics, Salman Khan had chanted numerous support for the Indian athletes via his Twitter and Instagram handles, @BeingSalmanKhan. He showered them with praises and words on encouragement before and during the Olympics.

Salman, who was the goodwill ambassador of the Indian contingent had gone as far as pledging to present each of the athlete with a cheque of Rs 1,01,000 - this is pronounced as One Lakh One Thousand Rupees which is approximately $1,520 or NGN 479,500. 

I understand that a lakh is a hundred thousand. What I don't get is the one thousand that is added to it. Why didn't he just give them one lakh, or one lakh and a half, or two lakhs... lol

I heard that he made good of this pledge by asking the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) to provide him with the bank details of the athletes in order to transfer the funds directly to them.

The Indian contingent to the Rio Olympics bagged a total of two medals; one silver and one bronze medal in badminton and wrestling respectively. The second picture is one he shared with P.V Sindhu, who won the silver in badminton women's singles at the Rio Olympics.

Will this gesture make the indian public forget that he refused to apologise for the rape comment?! Only time will tell...

Alright people, the movie of the day is #PremRatanDhanPayo which means Found a Treasure Called Love.

The movie which stars Salman Khan (as Yuvraj Vijay Singh and Prem Dilwale), Sonam Kapoor (as Maithili), Neil Nitin Mukesh (Yuvraj Ajay Singh), Anupam Kher (Diwan Sahib), Swara Bhaskar (as Rajkumari Chandrika) and Aashika Bhatia (as Rajkumari Radhika) was released in 2015 and I had the pleasure of watching it on Erosnow earlier this year. I found myself humming the theme song this morning, hence, the choice!

THE PLOT:

Yuvraj Vijay Singh is the crown prince of Pritampur, who is soon to be crowned as king. He is engaged to Maithili, a princess from the royal family of a neighboring kingdom. However, due to his stiff and stubborn nature, Vijay faces many problems with Maithili as well as his half brother and sisters. His half sisters, Rajkumari Chandrika and Rajkumari Radhika live in a separate house outside the royal palace and have filed case against Vijay for a share in the royal property, because they felt their mother, a mistress to the late King, was wronged by the Queen when she was disgraced in the presence of all the King's children. Similarly, his half brother, Yuvraj Ajay Singh, vows vengeance and has been wanting to kill him and take the crown for himself. He enlists the help of his manager named Chirag Singh, who begins to misguide Ajay at every step. Yuvraj Vijay barely escapes an assassination plan coordinated by Yuvraj Ajay and Chirag to kill him but gets badly injured. He is then hidden in a secret chamber for treatment.

Meanwhile, Vijay's lookalike Prem Dilwale, a perky, lively and carefree stage actor who is in love with Princess Maithili, went to Pritampur to meet her along with his friend Kanhaiya. At a bus stop, the Security Head of Pritampur Palace, Sanjay, notices him by chance, and takes him to Diwan Sahib. Upon seeing the striking resemblance between Prem and Vijay, Diwan asks Prem to take Vijay's place while he recovers from his coma. 

Prem acts as Yuvraj Vijay but with his simple and caring nature, he impresses Maithili who earlier wanted to break up with Vijay. Prem also attempts to reconcile with his sisters by bringing them back to the royal palace; he prepares legal documents handing over all of the royal family's properties to them. His half-sisters are so moved by this gesture that, with a little push from Maithili, they eventually have a change of heart and decline to deprive the prince of his fortune.

Ajay and Chirag find out that Prem is only playing the part of the prince, and kidnap the real Yuvraj. Chirag decides to double cross Ajay, by freeing Vijay and feeding him false information to pit him against Ajay and Prem. Vijay and Ajay get into a sword fight when Prem and Kanhaiya intervene and clear the confusion. Chirag tries to shoot them down but falls to his death. Ajay regrets his deeds and Vijay reconciles with him. Maithili is shocked to know the truth about Prem not being Yuvraj Vijay after Prem has left to return to his home. 

At the end, the royal family reaches Prem's house to reunite Prem and Maithili.

What I love about this movie:...

I totally enjoyed the richness of the royal culture. Also loved the way they infused the modern and traditional ways of life.

The songs were amazing; my favorite was "Jab Tum Chaho", that's the one where Prem was taking notes of the problems with Maithili. My second best song is the title track, I loved the video for that one.

My best part?...

That would be the scene when Prem (pretending to be Yuvraj) was supposedly on a vow of silence for some days but blurted out 'I'm sorry' to Maithili.

For me, I love the simplicity of the story - it was fun and traditional. The beauty and burst of colour of the set and the actors will make you watch it over and over again...

You can watch it on Erosnow for a token. If you love romcom, you should watch this film. You will thank me afterwards...
